More Valuable Than They

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Matthew 6:26

The Story

During the month of January this year Muskegon Pregnancy Services received a large donation of Enfamil A.R. The dozen cans were close to expiring and they aren’t ones we usually carry for our clients so we decided that we wanted to get them to someone who needed them, and quick. After posting on our Facebook page that they were free for whoever could take them, we received a message from someone who said that they were the only thing her baby would eat and that she was at the end of her very last can, and the end of her finances for the week.

We were able to give her all the cans and gave her baby foods to try without having to spend extra money if the baby didn’t like them. As she left, we could tell her cup was filled and she had a moment of hope. It was a testament to God’s timing and watchful care. What a gift we were able to provide to her and her child.

What It Means to Be More Valuable

This mom’s experience reminds us what it means when Jesus says “Are you not much more valuable than they?” in Matthew 6. What may seem like a curious coincidence is often truly our Heavenly Father looking out for us. He has a very timely way of meeting our needs.

Our Experience

In what ways can you look back and recognize when you were “more valuable than they” to God? Was there an instance where the timing was just too perfect or when things suddenly started looking up? It’s probably the case that there are numerous times we can think of in just a moment. This mom’s story emphasizes just that. At Muskegon Pregnancy Services, we offer more than just vital baby items, we offer opportunities for you to see that God is looking out for you, too. Whether you need items for your baby, a pregnancy test, or a supportive person to help you through the difficult moments, Muskegon Pregnancy Services is here to be a resource! Use it!

What we don’t offer, we are here to help you find in the community. For instance, if you need an extra hand finding foods for your baby, WIC offers nutrition education and free healthy foods.
